After building acoustic guitars on customers demand since 1980, I was asked to build my first electric guitar which extended my catalogue-contents, including E-Basses aswell. All orders where accomplished on personal-wish. Now that different individual Instruments were finished, they soon needed their own special pickups, because various standard measurements no longer could fit in.

In 1986, I started to invest in the needed machines and materials inorder to manufacture my own selfmade pickups, which I strictly used for myself in the beginning. Rumors rapidly spread that I was capable of repairing broken down pickups and I was literally bombarded with "rewind" orders. During this time, I saw and learned alot. In the year of ´89, I bought my first "CNC" rooter which made me capable of making guitarbodies, necks, fretslotting and special inlays such as other useful things on my own. Unique parts could be quickly made, or precisely reproduced. Just as needed.
This acquisition gave me the possibility of making coilbobins for pickups, as a single component in professional quality. Getting 10000 pickupbobins, is not the problem but manufacturing two "precision" pickups of the same type which remain payable, seemed inpossible without having to cope with massive expenditures, due to the fact that a pickup usually runs as a typical serial-product piece. |
I´m working on a pickup collection since 1995, which contains nearly all standard models keeping priorities on producing unique and special-type pickups. Various guitarbuilders equipe their instruments with my selfmade pickups nowadays. I also manufacture "OEM" pickups, which are distributed under other labels. Offering good pickups to an unbeatable price, remain one of my goals for the future. Consequent, extensive tests during the period of development make this vision achievable. A persistent search for inproved and more suitable kinds of metals for magnets, coils and tacks stay top priority. Inbetween time, I have the option to choose over at least fifteen different types of magnets and wire-intensitys, which of them also have insulation-layers of variable thicknesses. Combined with polescrew materials made of four different kinds of steel, I am able to create an almost never ending sound-variety. Due to a close cooperation with other manufacturers and musicians, every instrument can recieve its individual, ideal pickup.
